Past-life Triggers

Past-life Triggers, the 4Ps

We all know that past lives are true. We know that they can be accessed through the hypnotic technique called past-life regression. I have experienced many, over thirty, of my own past lives, and, after considerable thought and analysis, I came to understand how they related to my current life.

How do we identify when a particular trait in our lives may result from a past life or lives? The majority of these can occur from an interaction with People, or Places, or Passions, or Phobias.

People – do you have a particularly strong connection with someone? Or was it love at first sight? Perhaps it was a slow-burn relationship which got off to a slow but meaningful start, which endured until one party passed. Was it a vehemently negative connection?

Places – déjà vu is a classic sign. Or being drawn to visit particular places can be another indicator. Having a passion for everything about that place, its culture, food, language, music.

Passions – any subjects, hobbies or interests that fascinate you particularly if they are outside your everyday life. Examples from my own past lives include port (as in wine), atomic energy, writing, and opals. All utterly diverse, and apart from the writing, unrelated to my existence.

Phobias – let me give you an extract from my channelled book, The Soul on the Ceiling. The answer was channelled from Saint Germaine who is one of my spirit guides:

Do our phobias result from past life experiences?

Phobias, oh my gawd. Almost definitely, almost every time. Snakes – ugh! Definitely. Many people have phobias about snakes, about heights or enclosed spaces and all of these absolutely come from past-life experiences which are not necessarily bad experiences. To illustrate:

Anthea had a life about 2000-odd years ago in northern China or Mongolia where she was a snake-keeper. The society was such that they had snake pits for gaming and entertainment – it’s too ghastly to even think about. But somebody had to look after these snakes, and she was good with them. She knew how to manage them, and she knew about anti-venom treatments.

In this life, she freaks out about snakes, and you have to ask why when that’s a totally opposite reaction. But that’s the whole point. This time she’s come back to be afraid because then she was totally comfortable with them. This life is to experience the opposite.

Phobias can be like that. You might be very scared of an enclosed space. Let’s say you were buried alive in a past life. In this life, you might carry that forward because you absolutely do not wish to repeat that experience. So you will go out of your way to avoid the possibility by not getting into any enclosed space. The other possibility is that in this life, you will embrace enclosed spaces because you are not afraid of them this time. Both are opposite perspectives. It can be for all those balancing-type reasons.

Being afraid of heights is the same thing. Maybe in a past life, you were really good at heights, but in this life, you might want to experience the fear. Maybe in a past life you wanted to overcome a fear of heights, but you failed, so you carry that back as a lesson to try and have another go at this time.

Let me end with an irony. At the end of 2023, I moved to a new house in a calm and peaceful suburb where the streets follow the meandering path of the local river. But unbeknownst to me before I bought it, the river is home to snakes, many of them. When the weather is warm or the river levels too high, they sun themselves in our streets and gardens. This has to be karmic, an opportunity to overcome my phobia and to learn to live with them.
